Pushing 50 with 85lbs to shift, and feeling positive!

Hi all,

I'm Gareth, and I've decided it's time to own the fact I've been heavy all my life and shift the excess timber I'm carrying around.

At the start of April I was 323lbs, but as of this morning I'm at 306lbs. I'm 6'6" so I carry the weight fairly well, but my knees are starting to tell me it's time to trim down. I was lucky enough to take part in some student research into metabolism which snagged me a free DEXA scan, and this has given me some amazing data to help plan my weight loss journey.

I'm not doing anything groundbreaking; logging my calories, eating more protein, prepping my meals, that kind of thing. I'm trusting in the process, and so far so good. I'm sure I'll have bad days, but as long as they're outweighed by the good I'll get there.cganrw528mx4.jpg

    Hi and welcome, Gareth!

That sounds like a very sensible approach: I'd bet on success for you, with that kind of approach and attitude. Congratulations on your success so far.

Best wishes for continuing success, too. :)
