new here

call me Heart
I'm not at all enthusiastic about this, but I'm willing to give it a try
I'm here because the DR referred me to a "medical weight management program" and insurance approved it
The initial program papers asked me to start tracking my food intake on an app (myfitnesspal was one of four options) and work towards a goal of 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week
So here I am

    Best of luck.
I don't think enthusiasm is necessary to success here -- just a willingness to be reasonably accurate in your logging.

    Welcome, Heart!

Enthusiasm ebbs and wanes, but discipline can last forever. Be disciplined, the results will come, with or without enthusiasm.

Oh. Enthusiasm is definitely not something to rely on.

But small habits build one on another and eventually you will see progress. I don’t know why your doctor recommended a medical weight management program to you, but I assume there’s a serious reason behind that recommendation. And your willingness to give it a try tells me you’re ready to make these changes.

But it will take stubbornness and determination, as well as patience.
The result will be worth it, I promise.

Daily logging of your diet is key. Other things that will help would be to find a challenge here. There are groups for people who have a lot to lose. There’s very active challenges here too.

Also, 22 minutes a day of moderate exercise might seem like a lot right now. But you can start off doing 6 minutes 4 times a day. That will count, and you will be able to build up that with repeated workouts.

I would love to hear an update from you, when you’re ready.
