First, welcome!
Oh, what an open-ended question, lol. Prepare for a huge variety of answers, as what works for one person may not for another...
The top two suggestions for everybody are accuracy and consistency:
When logging, be honest and accurate in the food you eat or the exercise your perform...did you eat one Oreo or two? Did you remember to add the sugar and cream from your coffee? Did you not log eating something for shame of it making you go over calories for the day? Depending on your privacy settings, nobody but you needs to know how well you are adhering to your meal plan, but you need to be honest with yourself.
And consistent. This is not a 6-week sprint of kill yourself to lose weight ASAP and then return to the old ways of eating, this is a marathon for the rest of your life. There will be days you go over calories (hello, birthday cake!), there will be days where life intrudes and you forget to log (hello, birthday party!). But if MOST of your days meet your plan, you will make progress. Some days or weeks the scale will seem to stall or even go backwards, but that does not necessarily mean you have failed; our bodies are weird, and weeks of stalled weight can be offset by losing inches around the waist, followed by a sudden leap of several pounds all at once. You didn't gain the weight in a week; it will take more than a week to lose it back again.
You got this!0
