    If you’re really new at this you might want to consider a portion control plate.

    Portions sizes get deducted from your calorie total. You get to choose what you want to eat as long as you don't exceed your calorie allotment. The hope here is that you start making better choices on HOW to use that allotment. Instead of a 200 calorie candy bar, you have 200 calories in fruit instead for instance.
