Calories in app question

I really want to know when i put lets say chicken and rice and they say how much calories in it, do they include oil . Salt etc.. or should i put it manually

You should enter everything in a recipe individually to get the calorie count. MFP is a crowdsourced database and people can literally enter whatever they want. That pretty much makes it impossible to know what the cooking method was, the cut of meat , how much salt or oil, what else might have been in it. You're far better off choosing your own carefully vetted ingredients to get to an accurate calorie count for whatever you might eat.3

The only person who would know what is included would be the person who put in the entry. Always enter each item separately or put your own recipe together.1
