I've been hearing about carb cycling as a good technique lose body fat. Is there any truth to it, or is it simply CICO?
If it is simply CICO I wonder if carb cycling might be a way to better stay on track. If there is any food category I crave, it's carbs.

For fat loss, CICO all day long.
Carb cycling might help some people indirectly if they find it helps with appetite, energy level, exercise performance, compliance with calorie goal, or some other factor like that that influences CICO. Even then, I'm skeptical that it needs to be some highly structured, rigid routine.
Caveat: Things that people fervently believe will work tend to work, or at least they feel like they do.
So many people crave a hack.2

Overall, no for the general population. Some bodybuilder contestants can benefit and that's about it. The carb timing for 99.9% of people is just getting in some carbs pre workout for energy. Other than that overall weekly calories dictate whether fatloss will happen or not2
