Just stopping by to talk about how I lost 135lbs again.

Like a lot of people, things went off course for me, and I put 150lbs back on after losing it a decade ago.

It was honestly pretty awful. I had become miserable, I couldn't get around so great, constantly out of breath, no friends or social life. Just... awful. Being 330lbs at 6' tall is just freaking awful.

So after hitting rock bottom I got my head back on straight. I went through the same exact process I went through to lose it the last time. Now my goal is to maintain it for the rest of my life.

If anyone's curious about what kind of "diet" I follow: I don't. I just keep my protein high, try to prefer whole foods when possible, and keep it under 2,000 kcals a day, while staying active most days a week. I do not limit any sort of food, but avoid sweets b/c they have a side effect of making me hungry.

I did try ozempic for a little while, but didn't feel it did much, so I stopped cold turkey, there was no rebound effect. It really did nothing for me, just waste my money.

It's taking a while, I'm not where I want to be yet, but from 330lbs to 195lbs again from ~december 2022 to now. Despite my love handles and some loose skin issues, most people would consider me an "athletic" body type now, and it was hard worked for.

Wishing everyone the best on their journey.

BTW, I'm in my mid 40s. It was incredibly difficult compared to the last time in my 30s, but if you keep pushing, inch by inch, you get there.

Exactly. Calling it a "lifestyle" is a little misleading... for those of us who have successfully lost, maintenance is an active investment, there is no coasting or pulling back. You gotta keep working as hard as day 1.

Congrats on your success. There is nothing worse than losing the weight you've regained.

It was awful. It happened so fast (the pandemic lock downs) that I didn't even realize what was going on until it was too late.

Congratulations on getting back in control. Both of your efforts were amazing and I know you learned a lot along the way.

After years of yoyo dieting, I finally realized that I can never just coast, I have to pay attention all the time if I want to keep the weight off. At this point, I've maintained a 55 lb. loss for over 10 years, but I know how easily I could put it back on if I get careless.

This is literally the journey I am on now myself. Lost 90kg (200lbs) and was so proud, even got skin removal surgery and then bam, life happened, my mother died and I went back to my coping mechanism of turning to food. I am lucky that I have only gained back 90lbs but I am starting all over again but this time it’s soooooo much harder than 10 years ago. I feel this post in my soul and really really hope I have the same success as you. Good job ☺️

Yes the maintenance struggle is real. No parades, no celebrations for maintaining. It’s a different mindset than losing.
