American "lady" in Starbucks...LONGPORT??

I was queuing up for a coffee this morning in Leeds (English city), an American lady waltzed in and demanded to know if they sold "longports".
The girl behind the counter explained that unfortunately they didn't stock longports....well, this woman got so angry, she started yelling to her husband "oh my gaaaad, they don't even sell longports" at the top of her voice.
Of course we (the queue) looked at each other in amazement at this early morning display of arrogance and bad manners.

My question is this, WTF is a longport? Google doesn't know :frown:

Many thanks in advance, this has been pissing me off all day

This American lady has no idea and I'm pretty sure none of my local Starbucks stock this either. I hope you can see that her rudeness is unique to her and not a product of being American ;-)

Seriously, it has been on my mind all day...sad right?
I can't remember ever seeing it on the menu (I've visited Starbucks in loads of different countries). She seemed adamant that it should be there :noway:

what does being American have to do with this?

    did you check her passport?

she sounds Canadian to me.

note to moderators: this is a clearly JOKE response. done to illustrate the problem with the OP's assumption that somebody "rude" must be American. who's known to be the exact opposite of rude? Canadians. that's why the response is funny.

This is gonna drive me crazy. She was saying something but probably not longport.

Maybe something from the little deli section?

Why does a fanny pack make you a yank?? I've never worn a fanny pack in my life! Atrocious things!

No idea, never been there. Only been to Sac once. Thought it could be a local special or something. Definitely clutching at straws.
