There are 3 dots that seem like they should be the way to open a response, but when I tap them nothing happens. How do you respond?

If you want to quote their post in your response, click on "Quote" below their post. That will copy their post into the "Leave a Comment" box.

Look at it. It will have "quote" inside square brackets at the front (with some attribution stuff, too), and "/quote" in square brackets at the end. As long as you type after the "/quote" and its square brackets, you'll have a nice clean reply to their post.

If you want to get super fancy, you can even comment in the middle of their post! How to do that: Go to where you want your comment to appear in the midst of what they typed. Put in "/quote" inside square brackets. That interrupts their post.

Type what you want to say in response to their post at that point. Then type "quote" inside square brackets at the end of your piece. (You don't need to repeat the attribution stuff.)

To take a look at how that will appear in the dialog, click the "Preview" button below the post you're working on.

When it looks all nice in preview, click the "Post reply" button. (Along the way, you can click "Save Draft" so you don't accidentally lose what you did already.)

Hey, try that stuff out here! If you try it, and it doesn't work, I'll comment again and let you know what's up with that. I want you to be able to comment/participate here in all the ways you'd like. More people talking more is just more fun, to me. :flowerforyou:

P.S. The three dots have one main function. For one hour (only) after you post, you can edit your post if you have a typo (or in my case, if I had a tantrum and I want to change what I said! :D ). If there's still time, the word "edit" will appear when you click the 3 dots, and if you have enough minutes it'll open up a box where you can change stuff in what you wrote. You can click "save comment" or "cancel" on that box depending on what you want.

If I have a tantrum, and typed something I don't want to be out there in public, but it's too late to edit, I can click on "Flag" under my post, then click "Report" then "This is my post and I want to delete it". Finally, I'd scroll down and click on the "Send report" button at the bottom there. That will send a request to the MFP moderators to delete my post. It will take a little time - variable, because they're human, and busy ;) - but they will delete it for me.
