Workout Stretches

Good day, my fitness pals.
Getting into the habit of working out, I've incorporated morning stretches to start my day off, and I was curious as to what other people do when in comes to that.
What stretches, if any, do you do? Do you follow a certain guide, or follow a video, or do you stretch as best as you know how? Do you stretch a particular part of the body more than others?

None.
If you're going to stretch, investigate "dynamic stretching".
Static stretches can promote muscle injury, especially when done cold.0 -
I just did a video called Cardio Flow by Jessica Smith on Youtube. It had a little cardio in it, but when I got done I felt so stretched and relieved. She called it a recovery workout, basically for in between days of heavy workouts. I know that you were asking for strictly stretching, but I felt so good after I did it, so I would recommend taking a look.
Oh yes and dynamic stretching is that way to go. static stretching is more for after you have worked out and your muscles are all warmed up.0 -
I have one day a week that is my "stretch day" where I spend 20-30 minutes stretching. I have my own stretch routine for this, based off of old dance training. However, I never ever stretch with cold muscles. A stretch day includes some dynamic stretching followed by a 10 minute walk (with arm movement) to warm things up and get the blood flowing before I stretch.
My dynamic stretches include
Windmills
Lunges
Hip and Knee Circles
Side Bends
Arm Crossovers0 -
I really need to stretch and I know very little about stretching. So, I am very interested in learning what others do and how. If you can add any instructions or point to places on the web that explain how to perform particular stretching I would appreciate it. Right now I am going to Google "dynamic stretching."0
