A couple of sporting NSVs

I've played a casual game of soccer most weeks for a few years. I put a lot of effort in and enjoy myself but I've always struggled to keep up with the faster players. Last Wednesday was our first proper game after a summer break and suddenly I'm one of the fastest guys around! Losing some weight and getting into running has made a huge difference to my fitness. As well as being able to get to the ball more quickly I now get a few moments on the ball to decide what to do. It's great!

The second NSV is more straightforward. I got onto Couch to 5K at the start of the summer and it's gone really well but I've struggled to keep going for the full 30 minutes. My pace has always been good but I've been having to stop once or twice to catch my breath. Tonight was the first time I've been able to run continuously for over 30 minutes. According to my app I completed 5.5K in that time which I reckon is pretty good going. The next step is an official 5K event and luckily enough there is a Parkrun in my town on Saturday morning...
