Create a "Calorie Bank"

It would be very useful to have a calorie bank that tallied over/under calorie intake for the day as well as any additional calories burned due to extraordinary exercise. The bank would accumulate the variance from the goal over time.

This would let people bank calories for an upcoming splurge or lower intake for a while if they'd previously exceeded their calorie intake.

    Speaking just as another MFP user, not a staff person: I agree with the idea that this would be helpful. As a workaround while it's not a feature, I've used the Weekly View of Calories (in the Nutrition option of the More menu) in the phone/tablet version of MFP to get something close to that.
