Hi there my name is Steff from Bonnie Scotland. This is my 1st week which has been and gone. I joined last Monday and have lost 5.2 pounds in 1 week. I hope this week is similar or better. Getting there. Plenty of walking is helping me get fit again

A 5.2 weight loss for your first week is most likely water weight. The weight is going to come off more slowly at this point. Aim for a half pound to one pound weekly, tops. It will be much more sustainable in the long run.

Depends on weight available to use. And type of diet intervention. Generally speaking 0.5 % to 1% of body weight per week is good. Usually people find the lower end of that easier to sustain unless they have an abundance of energy reserves available to lose and are just starting out. Sounds like a great start!

Welcome. Keep at it. Don't be surprised if your weekly loss is slower after the first week, due to water weight lost then. In fact, I recommend not counting that first week. So track weeks 2, 3, 4 etc. and your weight loss there will determine what your actual calorie deficit is, better than any online calculator can.
