Hi. 5'6" & 127lb. Wanting to maintain. MFP reccomends 1700 cals a day but it's winter here and those hearty warming meal options are calorie dense. Ive just spent a week tracking & found out I'm averaging 2000 cals a day.

What's Your go-to winter options?

I eat a lot of soups stews and curry type dishes in winter and summer. I log my calories of the whole pot while cooking and then, on the fly decide how much rice/pasta/bread/etc I'll have with it and how many portions that will be. By now I've learned how to keep calories within my dinner range while still getting a very tasty meal on the table.

Like yirara said, veggie-heavy soups/stews are good. I also like to make big pans of roasted veggies in Winter, eat some hot with a protein, then refrigerate leftovers to use in salads, soups, or sandwiches.

I'm in winter too (sadly). Three things I'm liking at the moment, in case you're inspired to experiment:

My favorite in winter is Hungarian stew-any meat and fried and then simmered for hrs with bellpeppers, onions, and tomatoes with lots of paprika.I add potatoes, but I guess you could leave those out or eat w/ rice or noodles.
