Day 92—10/18 – 147.8 - Down a pound from yesterday and down 4 pounds from the day before. The Thanksgiving dinners were bulky, but not that high in calories (438). I kind of knew that the gain was false/temporary. Getting my hair foiled tomorrow morning to disguise a bit of the silver. Off and running this morning since I need a small repair on my hearing aid before my 2 jobs today and before all of those places are closed for the weekend.

Update: have allowed a 5lb backslide to happen; 10 days until end of challenge so updated Ult Goal would be 175.? Then will work on the next 5, then 10 on the next challenge.
10 days, Oct 17th: 176.6 Finished clearing deep freeze and frig freezer. House ready for company. Relaxing visit. Strayed off plan with appys and wine but not horrible.
9 days, Oct 18th: 176.2 Wet snow falling; hubby’s putting on winter tires. Menu set for an “on plan” day. Organizing dips for fruit platter and veggie tray for tomorrow’s Memorial Tea.

Thoughts at the beginning of this challenge:
Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl, uphill, both ways. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I CAN make, no matter how big or small. Sadly, I gained a little over 6 pounds last round. I hope to turn all that back around this round. After all, here in Northern Michigan I wait a very long time each year to finally get to good weather and more outside activity. I really want to capitalize on the good weather in the summer months and increase activity and drop pounds. I’m failing miserably with this so far in 2024. Time to maximize the rest of summer and early fall with challenge #20 and make the magic happen! I am so very grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

No intentional exercise but I did fully fall clean my grandson’s room and sifted through the toys while he wasn’t here. This included moving his furniture around and/or out. Today he arrives for the normal 4 days. His mom has to work all 7 days this week due to yearly company project of some sort so I’ll have my hands full. He had a pumpkin patch field trip today. I can’t wait to get him off the bus and hear all about it! So I’m up a little from last week but I’m okay with it. Considering all I’ve been going through at home, its not as bad as I thought it would be. Lots of fluctuations through the week that have slowly been smoothing themselves out.

Day 92-10/18-DNW-(Trend weight DNW) No-weigh Friday. Macros were within limits although carbs were on the higher end of my allowance due to Pasta. I made a Spaghetti Casserole with real Pasta for the gang although I avoided the garlic bread. I probably should have gotten a spaghetti squash and made mine separate (and different) but I didn’t. I’m planning a good day today. The family will eat leftovers but no more pasta for me today.! Two days in a row would surely be a disaster! I have lots of better options and need to keep eating clean and within plan at home.

Thoughts at the beginning of this challenge:
Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl, uphill, both ways. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I CAN make, no matter how big or small. Sadly, I gained a little over 6 pounds last round. I hope to turn all that back around this round. After all, here in Northern Michigan I wait a very long time each year to finally get to good weather and more outside activity. I really want to capitalize on the good weather in the summer months and increase activity and drop pounds. I’m failing miserably with this so far in 2024. Time to maximize the rest of summer and early fall with challenge #20 and make the magic happen! I am so very grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Day 92-10/18-DNW-(Trend weight DNW) No-weigh Friday. Macros were within limits although carbs were on the higher end of my allowance due to Pasta. I made a Spaghetti Casserole with real Pasta for the gang although I avoided the garlic bread. I probably should have gotten a spaghetti squash and made mine separate (and different) but I didn’t. I’m planning a good day today. The family will eat leftovers but no more pasta for me today.! Two days in a row would surely be a disaster! I have lots of better options and need to keep eating clean and within plan at home.
Day 93-10/19-192.4-(Trend weight 192.8) A bit of a jump up (just under a pound) due to two days of pasta dinners. All the leftovers are gone now except just enough for one plate which my son will polish off today. I kept the portions under control but I always bloat and gain after real pasta. It fed the whole gang nicely though for a full 2 days. I’m happy to see my trend weight still going down. I have a good plan for today but I’ve got to get off my butt and get in some exercise even while babysitting my very active DGS.

Well Donna, I was in Rock bands for 10 years back in the day when we toured with Marshall stacks and giant speakers. I lost bandwith at that point. I suppose that I learned to lip read and I got by. When everyone was wearing masks I could no longer get by so I bit the bullet in 2020 and got one. Very glad that I did, especially when I am near a babbling brook.
Perhaps I haven't shared that chapter from my life?

Day 92—10/18 – 147.8 - Down a pound from yesterday and down 4 pounds from the day before. The Thanksgiving dinners were bulky, but not that high in calories (438). I kind of knew that the gain was false/temporary. Getting my hair foiled tomorrow morning to disguise a bit of the silver. Off and running this morning since I need a small repair on my hearing aid before my 2 jobs today and before all of those places are closed for the weekend.
Day 93—10/19 – 147.8 - Same, I really expected to lose a little bit. I am having a procedure on my feet on Monday and will not be allowed to drive or walk for a couple of days. Good thing that there is public skating tomorrow. I really don't feel right if I am not getting movement in. A little worried about the upcoming 2 days when I have to stay off of my feet. Maybe I can lose a tiny bit more weight before that happens.

Thoughts at the beginning of this challenge:
Last round I had my normal goal of a 12 pound loss which is approximately 4 lbs per month. That comes to about 90 days leaving the other 10 open for special holidays and social occasions. In theory, it’s a good plan. In practice it is a Mountain to Crawl, uphill, both ways. However, each 100 day round I am extremely grateful for any progress I CAN make, no matter how big or small. Sadly, I gained a little over 6 pounds last round. I hope to turn all that back around this round. After all, here in Northern Michigan I wait a very long time each year to finally get to good weather and more outside activity. I really want to capitalize on the good weather in the summer months and increase activity and drop pounds. I’m failing miserably with this so far in 2024. Time to maximize the rest of summer and early fall with challenge #20 and make the magic happen! I am so very grateful for all the support from all of you that I get on a daily basis. Working on my health has become my #1 priority. My main goals are to maintain my remission by staying cancer free and to keep my diabetes in control. Losing weight is key to both goals.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Day 93-10/19-192.4-(Trend weight 192.8) A bit of a jump up (just under a pound) due to two days of pasta dinners. All the leftovers are gone now except just enough for one plate which my son will polish off today. I kept the portions under control but I always bloat and gain after real pasta. It fed the whole gang nicely though for a full 2 days. I’m happy to see my trend weight still going down. I have a good plan for today but I’ve got to get off my butt and get in some exercise even while babysitting my very active DGS.
Day 94-10/20-191.0-(Trend weight 192.6) A nice drop back down into the 191 world but I am pretty ashamed of how I got it back there. Yesterday evening I drove to the new little local ice cream place and ordered something that is like an M & M Blizzard. I ordered size large with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla. Custard, no less. I did this after scouring the menu to try to figure out what the BIGGEST item was that they had on the menu besides Banana Splits since I don’t eat bananas. I was not going for quality, it was pure quantity, pure gluttony really. I know from past mistakes that a medium turtle blizzard made with chocolate ice cream is about 985 calories so there is no doubt that this came in well over 1000. As I sat in my car eating it alone like a bandit hiding their loot, I looked around at all the filled picnic tables and saw EVERYONE else eating little dishes of ice cream, or small simple cones. They were enjoying theirs much more than I was mine because it was what they REALLY WANTED, not just the biggest amount or the biggest value for the $. I felt pretty disgusted, especially when I finished it anyway. Later I ended up skipping my dinner to offset the calories. No amount of starving was going to fix the carbs. I went to bed at 2:00 am very hungry. So yes, I had a drop today due to no dinner. But it’s not the right way to get where I need to go. I’m sure my diabetes didn’t thank me as my glucose was still up by over 40 points this morning from 5:00 pm ice cream yesterday. Sorry for the long post but I hope it helps someone when I say it’s just not worth it. Healthy consistent clean meals are the answer. SMALL, OCCASIONAL treats are okay. Treats are not meal replacements! Today I will put all my knowledge and tools to work and have a good day which should always be the normal and not the exception.

No, there has not been very much from you about your past. Did you ever marry or have any children, grandchildren etc..? Did you ever do gigs or tour the U.S? Why did you stop? etc. etc. I would have lots of questions but I respect your privacy and always enjoy only what you wish to share.

I never married. I was engaged 3 times, and lived with each of them for 5 years. Old fashioned, I didn't want to have children until at least 3 years into marriage, and at the end of the day I just did not want to be married.
Yes, maybe I have had to work harder with one income instead of 2, but I bought a house and I do what I want to do whenever I want to do it, and I don't answer to anyone.
Above all else, I value freedom and autonomy more than anything.

Day 92—10/18 – 147.8 - Down a pound from yesterday and down 4 pounds from the day before. The Thanksgiving dinners were bulky, but not that high in calories (438). I kind of knew that the gain was false/temporary. Getting my hair foiled tomorrow morning to disguise a bit of the silver. Off and running this morning since I need a small repair on my hearing aid before my 2 jobs today and before all of those places are closed for the weekend.
Day 93—10/19 – 147.8 - Same, I really expected to lose a little bit. I am having a procedure on my feet on Monday and will not be allowed to drive or walk for a couple of days. Good thing that there is public skating tomorrow. I really don't feel right if I am not getting movement in. A little worried about the upcoming 2 days when I have to stay off of my feet. Maybe I can lose a tiny bit more weight before that happens.

@deepwoodslady I completely relate to what you did at the ice cream shop. I've done that as well. I made a better choice the last time, though, and got a kid's ice cream cone. It had a coating on the outside that was good. I was satisfied, surprisingly. So, don't look back. Look ahead and you'll make the better choice next time!

Day 92—10/18 – 147.8 - Down a pound from yesterday and down 4 pounds from the day before. The Thanksgiving dinners were bulky, but not that high in calories (438). I kind of knew that the gain was false/temporary. Getting my hair foiled tomorrow morning to disguise a bit of the silver. Off and running this morning since I need a small repair on my hearing aid before my 2 jobs today and before all of those places are closed for the weekend.
Day 93—10/19 – 147.8 - Same, I really expected to lose a little bit. I am having a procedure on my feet on Monday and will not be allowed to drive or walk for a couple of days. Good thing that there is public skating tomorrow. I really don't feel right if I am not getting movement in. A little worried about the upcoming 2 days when I have to stay off of my feet. Maybe I can lose a tiny bit more weight before that happens.
Day 94—10/20 – 148.0 - Slight gain, I ate dinner at 2am. Much has occured in my "hood" over the last 2 days. Arson? and stuff, street is cordoned off. Anyway, I am going skating today :)
Day 95—10/21 – 149.0 - Ouch! Extremely early weigh in though. Lots of activity yesterday, good eating. I have to stay off of my feet for a couple of days after the steroid injection into my feet this morning. I am going to have a very good workout this morning before leaving. Street is still cordoned off. I dug a bucket of beets after skating yesterday, so I will sit and peel them all later on. It is supposed to be raining, so less chance for a craving to get out on the trails : - ) I was planning on doing the beets outside in the sun, instead I guess that I will make a red mess in my kitchen lol.

@dawnbgethealthy Must have been something very serious if the street is still cordoned off. Beets. I have tried and tried to like them. They taste like dirt to me. Like mud. I just tried one the other day, and it was almost okay. I scrubbed it really well and cut it into slices, mixed it with olive oil and salt, and roasted it in the oven until almost crispy. Beets are so good for you, so that's why I keep trying:)2

Beets. I have tried and tried to like them. They taste like dirt to me. Like mud. I just tried one the other day, and it was almost okay. I scrubbed it really well and cut it into slices, mixed it with olive oil and salt, and roasted it in the oven until almost crispy. Beets are so good for you, so that's why I keep trying:)
It's so interesting what we like and don't like. From childhood on I've always loved beets! I like them buttered with Mandarin orange sections. Never liked Spinach, Cauliflower, Broccoli and Turnips as a kid, but love them now as an adult! Hated lima beans as a kid... and still HATE them as an adult! LOL
