low cal vegetarian protein sources

Asking for a veggie friend: what is there other than
- beans
- low fat dairy
- nuts
- tempeh, soy, etc ?
Friend does not like protein shakes, cottage cheese or greek yogurt, trying to come up with something else. Does like regular cheese & beans, but I think is sick of it.
Or, is there a really great-tasting, low-cal, non-retch-inducing protein shake brand out there?

Veggies? Peas, broccoli, spinach... Etc. Potatoes as well.
They can drink other yogurt too, not just Greek... that has a decent amount of protein.
Just put a bunch of fruit in a smoothie with almond milk, cottage cheese and/or greek yogurt... They might luck out and not mind the taste of cottage cheese or greek yogurt in the smoothie. That's what I do, I can't taste it and it has tons if protein in it.0 -
I personally really like the Yves brand of meatless products. Their pepperoni slices, for example, are 50 calories a serving and 9g of protein. So, two servings would come in at 100 calories and 18g of protein. Which is pretty good I'd say. Also, Clif bars are delicious. and egg whites!0

I also personally love Body Fortress chocolate protein powder mixed in with my morning coffee.0

Egg whites. She can hardboil them and snack on the whites between meals to fortify her daily intake with extra protein. Also, quinoa and flaxseed are good protein sources. I make hummus from chickpeas. It has the same amount of protein per serving as quinoa, neither of which elevate blood sugar.0

Can try Lentils/legumes, Butter Milk, Whole wheat breads comparley rich in protein ! Fresh Long Yard Bean is fantastic, low in calories but good in protein if you are comparing with other vegetables !0

AdvoCare protein shakes are yummy.

I love them all. Has flavors in chocolate, chocolate mocha, berry, and vanilla. There's also a new vegetarian protein shake that excludes milk protein, but I haven't tried it yet.0 -
