I first started my MFP journey several years ago when I met a wonderful man at church. We both were widowed and discovered something wonderful happening between us. Long story short, we were together for 5 years and married in February of last year. (He was 77 and I was 65.) I lost him in June of last year. For the past year I have been so surrounded with grief that I was not taking care of myself. At my yearly checkup with my doctor this year he said I had to start taking care of myself or I was heading for serious health problems. So I am back, trying to get healthier. So far I have lost 10 pounds (since May) and I have started Aqua walking for an hour a day in the community pools. I have been very consistent with the walking and sorta consistent with the diet. But, I am eating a lot healthier and look forward to continuing my journey to better health. Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. My name is Brenda, and this is my journey.

Hello, Brenda, and welcome back!
I admire your resolve to improve your health and future prospects, and it sounds like you're well on the path.
Speaking as a fellow widow, I know how dislocating losing a partner can be, and it does take some intention to find our own self in the new context.
I'm wishing you success in pursuit of improved fitness and health: The quality of life impact can be significant!0
