How important are rest days?

I'm just starting out, and walking 1 1/2 hours every morning, with plans to add other exercise in a little later down the track. How important are rest days? I'm worried about losing my motivation if I take a day off.

Rest days are important if you're doing something intense like heavy lifting. But for walking? No.
And as for motivation, you own your success. If you want it that badly, you will motivate yourself.0 -
Personally, I think that if you are only walking and you enjoy doing it, keep doing it. If you don't want to take days off, don't. If you want to take a day off, go ahead. Now, I'm no fitness expert but I really think walking is something you can do every single day and not do harm to yourself! Good luck!0
