I’m new here. I’m 76 yrs old. I’ve been overweight most of my life. I’ve tried several weight loss programs in the past. I would get to my goal and gain it all back. I have a lot of problems with my joints and realize that I have to get this weight off. I’ve had both knees replaced and have had back surgery along with osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. My mind is still young but my body doesn’t agree with my mind! It’s good to be here.

    Hello, and welcome!

I'm old here. I mean, old enough in real life, 68, but here in MFP since 2015 so kind of an MFP oldie. ;)

I empathize: I also have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, with joint problems (at least one torn meniscus) . . . fortunately still at a manageable level, but knee surgery will be in my future, according to my orthopedist. I was overweight to obese for most of my adult life, too.

Losing weight was a major help in deferring knee surgery and reducing frequency/severity of joint pain or discomfort.

I hope you find similar benefits!

Welcome! The great thing about MFP is that beyond giving help with weightloss, theres also help with weight maintenance, which is just as important.
