    The exercise you enjoy the most, so that you want to do it routinely, and maybe even get better at doing it so that you branch out into other related activities. No one else can tell you what exercise that is.

    Any exercise we actually do is 100% more beneficial than theoretically perfect exercise we procrastinate and skip at the slightest opportunity, not to mention that it's a waste of precious life-minutes to do something unpleasant when it's not essential.

    My main exercise is rowing, boats when I can, machines when I must. I love it. I've loved it for 22 years so far, a dozen years of which I stayed constant weight and class 1 obese despite training hard 6 days most weeks.

    It's a sensibly moderate, manageable calorie deficit that results in weight loss. Yeah, if we exercise, we get to eat a bit more and still accomplish the same weight loss rate. But exercise alone doesn't "burn fat" or cause weight loss.

    Find something fun, ideally . . . or at least tolerable and practical.

    Putting your fork down 😉 it's easier to eat less than it is to burn the same number of calories by exercising.
    And you can exercise as much as you want, you won't lose weight unless you're in a calorie deficit.

    PS: the best exercise (for health) is the exercise you'll actually do - choose something you like.

    You lose fat by creating a consistent weekly calorie deficit. Exercise can be a component of that however your diet will determine whether a calorie deficit is being created. Any type of exercise you enjoy will always be beneficial. If you're sedentary during the day definitely exercise daily.
