Make sure you are 100% dialed in on tracking - it’s likely you are not in the deficit you think. I my experience it goes back to tracking - also don’t eat back any calories burned as the cals burned most wearables provide is usually not accurate- just some suggestions - good luck2

I am passionate about logging in the calories, but I eat too many bad calories and am not in the gym as often as I once was.0

It doesn't matter if they are 'bad' calories or not: gaining weight is from eating too many calories. So what timescale are we talking about, being under calories and gaining?
Short-term: weight can fluctuate because of many reasons not related to fat gain.
Long-term: you may be underestimating your intake or overestimating your calorie burns.1 -
It would also help if you gave your stats (height, weight, age) and opened your diary for some more personalized help.1
