Any rock climbers out there?

I recently discovered my town has a rock climbing gym, and I've been looking into it a little. But I wanted to first ask how y'all like it. It's a bit pricey for my budget at the moment, but it also looks like a lot of fun and something worth trying out. I have 0 upper body strength and I'm sure climbing would help (is that right, or just an assumption of mine?). I have tendonitis in both of my shoulders and I've damaged my rotator cuff in my right one. Pushups are difficult cuz after a while it hurts like a mother, but I would like to have SOME strength in my arms lol. I can tell on the days when I push myself a bit too hard during my Insanity workouts, but it's also gotten a lot better since I started the program.

Anyways, any advice would be appreciated.

    Used to love it. Then I hurt my shoulder (not by climbing). Cant do it anymore. But my 4 yo daughter is quickly becoming obsessed with it.
