I have been trying to reduce the amount of sugar and salt in my food I was quite alarmed at the amount of sugar that's in a tin of baked beans, tinned spaghetti, Brown sauce, tinned tomatoes etc so I am looking for advice as the to where the best place is to buy them so far after looking on the Tesco website I have seen the beans which are quite expensive also the brown sauce once again quite expensive I suppose it's a price we have to pay to eat healthier food so I am looking for suggestions and advice please. Thanks

The cheapest way is going to be to make your own from scratch so you can control the salt and sugar.
No salt added canned tomato products are pretty affordable and easy to find. But since cooked tomatoes are so high in potassium, the sodium would have to be pretty high to cause water retention.0 -
Try not to eat canned food -- it's very high in sodium. Try to make your food from scratch if possible. If not, frozen is better than canned.0
