I am currently doing the insanity workout program and need to buy a new pair of trainers.
Can anyone recommend a good brand of trainers for high intensity interval training (HIIT)?

Shaun T said in an interview that minimalist shoes are best for doing Insanity, unless you have a medical need for thicker, shock-absorbing soles.0

Birth trainers. I tried different ones but ended up doing it bare foot.0

make sure you get crosstrainers (NOT running shoes - running shoes don't have the lateral support you need).
Outside of that, it really just depends on what feels best for your feet (ie I HATE Nike - they make my feet hurt after wearing them for just 5 minutes...and Adidas has the sides around the ankle cut too high for me, so when I to a side lunge, it cuts into my ankle bone)...so go to the store and try a bunch on, making sure to do some plyo moves and lunges and both front-to-back AND side-to-side movements.
That said, I have puzzle mats on my workout room floor, so unless I'm lifting weights (or running), I normally workout barefoot.0 -
Any shoe with a thin, flexible, non-spongy sole and a low heel, like Keds, Converse, minimalist shoes, etc.0
