Study time munchies

OK I am asking the question: I know it is a problem not sure how to fix it yet. I am studying for college and when ever I am studying I am eating. I tried to chew gum, but it just isn't enough. I sit there and think about things and munch.
any suggestion how to break the habit or redirect my attention????

Hey,
Having just finished 4 years at uni I know exactly what you mean, and while I was dieting over my final year exams it was the hardest thing. I found the best way was to plan lots of different snacks to have throughout the day while your studying. The snack would generally be very low calorie like carrot sticks, maybe a bit of homous, most salad, maybe the odd treat like a packet of crisps. Planning is the key. The other tip I would give up you is to drink a stupid amount of water. I would start the day by having a bottle of squash to give me some flavour and then constantly refilling it with water. The munchies is just because of boredom not actually hunger so just keeping you mouth busy and stomach constantly topped up with salad and water really helped me. I also set myself little targets like every hour of good study I would give myself a little snack
Hope this helps, but there is always an element of will power. Good luck at college0 -
Have a snack
Seaweed ! Its an acquired taste , but I love it . Really kicks the chips / salty food cravings without and excessive amount of calories .
Popcorn is another good one . (no butter)
or munch on some veggies .
They can all keep you alert and focused0 -

Air-popped popcorn
I think 1 cup is about 30 calories. I used to go through about 3-5 cups a day to help my addiction to snacking (until I started meditating and doing yoga on a daily basis and now the snacking has just stopped) and through this I was getting a hell of a lot of fiber and some protein to add to my macros.0
