I signed up for MFP last week. I'm a 5'8 female, 33 yo, started at 167 lbs. My husband also started. He's 34, 5'11", 250 lbs. The calories we've been assigned is 1200 (me) and 1600 (him). My TDEE (sedentary) ranges from about 1700-1800, depending on the metric, and my BMR is around 1400. My husband's TDEE is 2500-2600, BMR 2100-2200.
We've both lost ~2-3 lbs in the last week. So that's positive! Many things I've been reading (here and elsewhere) say never to eat under your BMR. Are we putting our bodies into starvation mode?
