Having someone with you that is supportive really helps!

So my husband is being very supportive and trying to help me, last night he purchased this book that I have been waiting for it to be released and said that I can't have it until I lose the 15lbs by Christmas goal that I have set for myself! Oh and for every 10lbs I lose we get to go on a date...not a dinner date, but to a movie or bowling or something like that :-)

Maybe I am missing something but I am not seeing support here, it's almost borderline blackmail. If you want the book you should have it, you should go on dates whether you have lost or not, that's part of a healthy relationship. Being "rewarded" doesn't seem like support to me. Lots of people set themselves goals; some of us need guidance in making sure we keep to the guidelines to reap the rewards of those goals. I know from personal experience with myself that I don't always have the self discipline to finish (insert task) before I reward myself. It's a lot of "oh, it's only cutting my workout short 5 minutes, it's no big deal" etc. I wish I had someone around constantly to help me stay on track.
