Hi. This is the...what?....the 5th time I have been here. The first time I was successful... every time after that, I wasn't. So here I am for the absolutely LAST TIME! I promise....LOL! And I am SO serious this time, I got the premier membership since I can't afford to waste the money so it's an investment in my life, literally. I want to lose 30 pounds. I need to exercise, eat right, and take back control. I have no excuses. I am retired so I have all the time to do what needs to be done. I am 70 years old and I am tired of feeling older than I am. I had lots of friend support when I lost 50 pounds the first time I was here...I could use that support again and will be happy to reciprocate. I wish there people local to me that I hook up with but I will be really happy to be MFP friends with you. Please add me. And good luck on your journeys....WE CAN AND WILL DO THIS!!!

Hello, and welcome back!
As you know, change is possible. We just need to commit, and mean it. Sounds easy, but if I knew how I had flipped that switch in my own brain a few years back, I'd bottle and sell it, make millions. As an aside, I'm 68, so I'm not discounting a word you say. I did become more active in my mid 40s after full-bore cancer treatment, but didn't lose weight until 59-60.
One thing to know - though maybe you've already realized it - is that mutual support on MFP is different than it used to be. (We can still look at friends' diaries, and send personal messages, but the news feed no longer exists.)
What I'd suggest, for the kind of support and encouragement you're seeking, is to look in the Challenges and Motivation parts of the Community here. There, you can find posts about many motivation/support groups, threads, or challenges that welcome new participants. The posts will describe how to join in. You can find one(s) that suit you, and join. That's a great way to get support and encouragement from a group of nice folks.
Here are direct links to those sections:

Another option is to read and post here in the general Community. I've learned a lot here, and over time gotten to (virtually) know some of the regulars. I participate in various threads where people share their workouts, or foods they've cooked recently, and that sort of thing. It works for me, did during weight loss, does now in maintenance.
Since you've succeeded before, I'm sure you know you don't need to do punitively, miserable exercise in order to lose weight, or completely cut out your favorite foods, or fix everything all at once. It can be easier to take on one manageable sub-goal at a time, like eating more lean protein and less fried food, or taking a 10-minute walk after meals, or whatever. (I'm not saying those specific examples would be right for you, since I don't know you, just giving examples of the type of thing I'm talking about: Enjoyable but reduced calorie eating, ideally fun (or at least tolerable/practical) exercise.
Wishing you success: As you know, the benefits are worth the effort!3 -
My biggest issue with weight loss is my profession. I'm an over the road truck driver. The job is very sedentary with few healthy food options. I can't even begin to figure out how to do this. Help!!!!!!!0

I'm not sure if this link will work (also, I'm not affiliated or have a personal interest), but I saw a documentary on this guy several years ago: https://guideposts.org/positive-living/health-and-wellness/exercise/this-truck-driver-got-fit-and-then-got-busy-helping-other-truckers/
If the link doesn't work, then Google: Siphiwe Baleka. You may get some helpful information.1
