Looking for a motivational companion on this journey!

Hey,

I am Nicole and I am a very overweight women looking to get serious about my weight loss journey. A few years ago (pre-covid) me and a friend signed up to weight watchers and we were successful but then she lost motivation and I lost motivation and we gave up.

I am currently on another “plan” which just focuses on calorie counting and I’ve lost about 6 pounds in the last 12 weeks. I attend classes myself and although the ladies are friendly I haven’t really “gelled” with anyone (I am a very shy and anxious person”.

I am thinking I need someone who has the same outlook on getting serious about weight loss and doesn’t mind a daily/weekly check in for accountability and sharing our journey.

If you have read this far thank you!!

Some other information about me is I am in my 30’s, I have a wonderful fiancé and two teenage stepsons. I have two doggies and two cats. I am trying to get back into and enjoy excercise and I do have a gym pass although mostly use it for swimming.

I am based in Scotland, UK.

😀

Hi Nicole and welcome from the West Coast of the U.S. :flowerforyou:

I'm not one for check-ins, I lost my 80 pounds over 17 years ago, but I do come to the forums regularly and in addition to this thread I'd suggest you go to the Challenges subforum or the Motivation and Support forum and find an ongoing thread or two to join in. They are active discussions and have people going through the same things.

Here's the link to Challenges: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/challenges

...and here's the Motivation section: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/motivation-and-support

Maybe read a few of them and get the vibe.

Nothing wrong with this thread, but unfortunately sometimes you won't get much response, or people will post once and disappear. At least in the ongoing threads, someone will stick around. (mostly  ) Some of them are just weigh-ins, some are fitness challenges, and some are chattier than others, but you can make some virtual friends.
