Hello,to all my new myfitness Family.I recently joined this gym to help me reach my demanding goal from my Cancer Surgeon.I was just informed that after 1 year and 6 months of chemo treatments, that my tumors are shrinking, and my doctors say to have a better outcome of removing 3/4 of my liver in need to lose 30lbs in 2months.I weigh 195 and 165 is my goal,I'm on a 1500 a day calorie diet.Is this goal even possible.Im not gonna lie I have back issues and just had a operation on my Right humerous and rotator cup,it's healed up but gives me problems if I do alot of activities.
I'm up to whatever suggestions you guys might give me,this is a very serious goal I gotta meet.
Thanks to yall in advance.
Rudy

I would say follow your doctors advice as best you can. He is the one who will be performing surgery on you, so he's really the one you need to be listening to in order for him to do his job as best he can.1

Hi Rudy, just to make it as simple for you as possible-
Weigh and track your food, literally everything with calories. That’s it. You don’t need to exercise, you need to recover. Focus on your calorie goal and prepare your meal plan in advance so there’s no excuses.

That is an aggressive rate of loss and you will need to max out on the nutrients before your liver surgery. When I was facing surgery to remove a large chunk of my liver I was offered access to a dietitian so I suggest you ask your surgeon if they can recommend one. It was made really clear to me that I needed to be as healthy as possible to recover well, and whilst I didn’t need to lose weight, I was still given nutrient drinks. They were disgusting but provided all the vitamins and trace elements required in a bio available form. (NB I ended up with a different surgery in the end so my liver was left intact.)2

If you have not dieted successfully before, I cant stress enough how important it is to accurately weigh everything that goes into your body to track those calories. With that weight loss goal, you dont have the luxury of wasting a month determining that your estimates were not close enough and you didnt lose much. Weight everything, including sandwich spreads, ketchup, salad dressing etc. Get a good reading on how many calories you are putting in your body.

It sounds like you’re very overweight. You most likely got there with bad food choices overtime. You can start by just changing your diet eliminating all ultra processed foods things like white bread, donuts chips, things like that and also no alcohol and don’t drink your calories. Your drinks should be basically just water or 0 cal drinks
You want a lot of lean protein, chicken breast, etc., and a lot of green vegetables. To lose weight you need to take a few calories then you burn so if you just start with the above concept, you’ll have a good start.
