Using final weight or volume for saved recipes

The app requires me to tell how many people my recipe serves when creating the recipe. As i usually weigh most things including the ingredients I usually add it to the app as I go, and then estimate how many servings, for example my Gazpacho recipe makes 2 litres, so I would like to use that as the amount of servings, pr the total weihht of a batch of hummus. Since I usually weigh it when I serve it this makes more sense to me that having to put in fractions of portions.
Furthermore when I edit a recipe I cannot alter the amaount of portions I make, so I need to delete the recipe and start again

Because recipes list ingredients with various types of measurements (weight, volume, and so on) there is no way for the recipe editor to calculate how many servings of a particular size will result when the various items are combined.
If you're not sure how many servings a recipe will produce, enter a best-guess number when you first create the recipe.
After the recipe is prepared, you can manually measure the number of servings that have been produced. Then, the recipe can be edited and the correct number of servings can be entered.
We would also recommend then putting in the actual serving amount in the title of the recipe to then remember how much each serving weighs.0 -
Many of us weigh the finished dish, and put the total number of grams as the number of servings.
Example: Say I make a stew, and the whole pot of fully-cooked stew (minus the pan) weighs 2357 grams. I put 2357 in the number of servings. MFP gives me a message that's some kind of "that's a big number do you mean it" (not that exact text, because I don't remember the exact text). But if I say I want to continue, it accepts the 2357 servings.
Later, maybe I eat 253 grams of the stew. I log 253 servings.
Some people weigh the pans/dishes they use most often to cook recipes, and put the list of weights on the inside of a cupboard door or something like that. That makes it easy to weigh the whole finished pot/dish of food, and subtract the weight of the container to get the number of servings.
This process works fine, for me. YMMV.
