I bought a salad from the deli at heb for lunch and there is no nutritional value for it. I scanned the barcode and it came up in the database. It says it is an 8oz salad on the package and they have it as only 213 calories and 14 grams of fat. It has no dressing with it, but it is a chef salad so it is loaded with cheese and ham chucks plus a hardboiled egg. This can't be right...can it? How do you know when to trust the database and how are you supposed to guess on foods that are not labeled like this one?

Maybe the salad is larger than 8 oz? It is frustrating and sometimes seems inaccurate (the scan thing). I know lettuce is very low cal an egg is about 70 cal. Ham and cheese I am not sure about. Best of luck0

Thank you! I am just going to put them in individually and be more prepared next time!0

One egg would be 70 calories, the lettuce itself will be like 10 calories or something, ham is usually 60ish calories for 2oz, cheese 100-130 calories for 2oz, so it might not be too far off honestly, but it's probably more.0
