    Weight loss plateaus are common.

    Keep it going.

Don't try to keep eating less and less, that's not the answer.

    We really need more info.
    • How much weight have you lost?
    • How much more do you need to lose?
    • Have you been logging or tracking food?
    • How many calories do you currently eat?
    • How tall are you?
    • Do you exercise?

And for how long have you stopped losing weight?

Unless less than a month(ish), in which case possibly simply too little patience, especially if things in the picture like new exercise, change in types of food eaten, female hormonal cycles, . . . among other things.

There could be a few reasons you've stopped losing.

    1. A smaller body requires less fuel. As you weigh less, but still eat the same amount, you reach a point where calories in equals calories out, so the body neither loses nor gains.
    2. If you are exercising as well, you are building up muscle besides losing fat. Muscle is more compact than fat, so you can remain the same weight but still be smaller. You need to measure your waist and hips as well to see if you are losing inches. Do your clothes fit looser? If so, you're on the right track, regardless of scale numbers.
    3. Check if you are being 100% accurate with your tracking. It's easy to think "I'm eating a salad so I must be in a calories deficit" and forget to record that generous spoonful of mayo! To tip the pasts from the box into the pan thinking "that looks like a quarter cupful" instead of measuring and/or weighing. To just finish off that last bit of peanut butter in the jar while making your kid a sandwich, thinking "this little bit won't matter...."
Ask me how I know! I have done these things = many times! But if you are in a consistent calorie deficit the overall trend will be downwards. keep recording your weight daily and watch the pattern on the chart. Never mind the daily fluctuations and have patience. It is a marathon, not a sprint.
If you are doing these things and there is still no change
= Check to see if your scale is accurate. I confess, my bathroom floor is uneven and if the scale shifts position from rime to time, I get a different result ( who could be responsible for such a thing??? Must be the cat!!!)
= there is a small possibility you have some medical condition that hinders weight loss. Unlikely, but you still need to check in with your usual health provider regularly so they can monitor how your diet and wight loss is affecting your health. Also, their scale will likely be more accurate than yours, so go by that.
Hope that helps! Don't get discouraged and give up too soon = we all hit plateaus and it's vital to persist.
