It's not all about calorie deficits

Can you clarify what you mean about 'manual'?0

...exercise helps create that calorie deficit, ya know?2

If it's about weight loss, it IS about calorie deficit. You DON'T lose FAT weight (unless you count water weight as weight loss) if your calorie intake is equal WITH the exception of recomposition training or maybe some "enhance" drugs. And in that scenario, it takes quite a bit of time to notice the change.

I have no idea what you mean by "manual boost" either.
But sure, exercise has lots of benefits. I started getting routinely active after cancer treatment, eventually (within a year or so) working out pretty hard 6 days most weeks, even competing as an athlete (not always unsuccessfully). That was great, felt good, was fun, I got stronger, my body got a bit more compact, fitness improved - all kinds of good stuff. But I stayed overweight/obese for another dozen years, doing that.
For weight loss - fat loss - it IS all about the calorie deficits, in my experience. Yes, exercise lets us eat a bit more while losing weight at the same sensibly moderate rate, and has all those other benefits.

That makes av lot more sense 🙂
Yup, exercise is certainly about me than just calories. For me it's a good way to release stress!2 -

LOL, looks like the faulty auto-correct migrated into your post too.1 -
Totally not judging, @Lietchi
I bet 98.5% of my posts have edits because I'm terrible about typing errors.1 -

Aaargh. Yeah, I don't know what my autocorrect is thinking sometimes, I've seen the weirdest things - words from languages I don't even know etc. I really need to reread before posting 😆2 -

90% of the time I get a mental boost from working out, and the other 10% it can make me totally want to hulk out with rage haha. I think the wrong endorphins get involved from time to time.1

I need the endorphins and serotonin I get from exercise. I may not feel a high, but I feel a calmness after a good workout that I really need.1

Exercise has been shown to help regulate appetite, which is obviously helpful for those trying to stick to calorie limits. Similarly, making better food choices can often lead to making other positive lifestyle choices, such as working out more.1
