I Really Need to Stop Comparing Myself to Others...

Bottom Line: I go to school for fashion and the whole "she is probably genetically thin" isn't working since about 75% of the campus is a size 0 or 2 with a flat stomach....I know that some of them probably don't eat healthy amounts (I lived with 2 last year....I'm not be disrespectful to anyone with an eating problem, as I seem to have body/food issues) and I know I need to remind myself that sometimes a 0 or 2 isn't healthy for your size frame. However, I used to be a 0/2 and LOVED my body, but unfortunately it was difficult to maintain, and now I can't stand going shopping because I feel like nothing fits me right. My frame is small, but my jeans don't fit anymore, and whenever I see anyone who is smaller than me, my self esteem drops and I hear myself saying, "oh she probably has good self control, unlike you." Sorry for this rant, I know it's pathetic and not logical at all, but I just needed to get it out of my head. Thanks.

Aw, I'm sorry you are feeling this way. Remember:

Sorry you're feeling this way, but you say it all in your title. I try to only compare myself TO myself. Be nice to yourself, be gentle. Others are so harsh and the world is nuts, so we have to be careful how we treat ourselves, and how we talk to ourselves. Ok, sounds like I'm lecturing sorry. Hope you feel better.0

thanks everyone! I guess the other problem is that I am comparing myself to my skinnier self, and know
I probably won't get there ever again. I literally need to lose one inch to fit back into all of my pants, but it just won't budge at all0 -

i also work at a bridal store and see all kinds of body types....and NO ONE looks like me.....i have this lower stomach pooch that won't go away and its very disproportionate to the rest of my body. most girls either have fat all of their stomach, or none at all.0
