How safe is this adding friends

Just wondering how safe this is adding friends I’ve been using this since 2018 and all of a sudden I got a friend request. What information can they see? Can they see everything? I think my profiles unlocked and someone added me, but there profile was locked it was kind of suspicious.

    It depends on your settings as to whether they can see your diary, otherwise they can just see your profile and message you.

    Given the news feed is gone, the only thing having people as friends does is allow you to message, and let them see your diary if you have it set that way.

    There are a lot of scammers and dodgy folk who will add you as a friend to get messaging, generally unless it's someone I'm already interacting with on the forum, I ignore friend requests.

    I recently had the same happen to me. We have just been casually messaging back and forth a few times. I think my profile is private. I don’t know the difference between locked and private. I think people can only see what you decide (everyone, just friends, only you).

    Okay thanks everyone for the feedback. I think it was some scammer lol 😂 I changed my profile to private I hope.
