The people selling B12 injections as a weight loss tool are taking you for a ride. Because they're not regulated and largely harmless, a bunch of unscrupulous providers have realised they can sell them to you at a premium by convincing you they work for weight loss. There's no proof that they do, and they won't do anything for anyone who isn't B12 deficient.7

No. They don’t work.
Yes. They hurt. From a friend who has them because she is deficient. And she’s obese. Hadn’t lost weight on them.1 -
I don't take the shots. I do take mega b complex pills. They help me because I have methylation issues and needed them. Vitamin b12 is one of the vitamins many people in the US are deficient in, along with Vitamin D, magnesium and a few others. Personally, I feel so much better since starting taking them that I exercise more, go out for fun more, and take more interest in the food I put in my body. It's certainly worth talking to your Dr. About and possibly getting blood tests.3

Taking in fewer weekly calories than you burn causes weightloss.4

Yeah, I mentioned undermethylation in another thread which is just about void in diagnosing from most Dr. visits and not looked at in blood panels at all. They're all about the lack of methionine, B vitamins 6 and 12, vit D, folate, magnesium, and zinc basically what most people are deficient in when it comes to what people in thr USA are actually eating. Overfed and under nourished which is a big problem. good you got that figured out.1 -
B12 is good for you, but it doesn't help with weight loss. No need to take shots unless you have a medical issue that requires a quick boost in your levels. I take a methylated B complex capsule because it supposedly absorbs best.1

I took B12 shots while obese. And stayed obese.
They weren’t painful but nor were they a weight loss tool.
If there were a magic pill or shot, everyone would know about it. The closest thing there is right now is the GLP shots. But even then, I’m utterly shocked at the people who come here, praying for it to work, but unwilling to invest any effort in the process other than getting the jab and are then wildly disappointed they’re not Instagram perfect.
Our expectations are way out of whack.5 -

B12 shots help with B12 deficiency. No impact on weight (except if you have a cracker of a hangover and it fixes up your nausea so you can perform human functions which would also include eating and drinking ... Yeah, I have experience)3
