Can steps be added manually?

Hi everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. This app was recommended by my doctor, and I’ve been happy with it up until now. Can you add steps manually because the app is following my phone, not my watch’s step counter. Also, my watch isn’t listed on the step counters the app follows.

What kind of watch? How far off are the two estimates?
You can't add steps directly, but you can go through a bunch of number crunching to enter something similar. You first have to measure your pace length or just assume 2000 steps per mile. Then convert your steps to a distance. Then estimate what your speed was (that's going to be the guess that kind of messes up everything). Then log a walk at that speed for the amount of time it would take to do that distance.
Or just use your phone unless it's overestimating.
The phone might have a feature where it won't count steps until you take ten or 20 steps in a short amount of time. That's to minimize it adding too many steps just from random movements, and it's a feature. My phone does that, and so does the device I wear on my wrist.0
