but does anyone else find it difficult to eat all of your calories on a good exercise day?

I find that since I only work out 4 x a week, I get used to eating my 1450 cal. Then on the days I work out, I have a hard time eating all the extra calories.

Now that I'm not eating junk food.. it just seems like a lot.

After my coffee and cottage cheese and grapefruit for breakfast,

my 6in subway sub for lunch

I still have 1500 cal to eat for dinner!

So either, i eat unhealthy for dinner? or I eat a "decadent dessert"? Or, I do what I usually do and go to bed with 200-300 cal left "uneaten".

I can't just stuff myself with spinach!

:)

what do you guys do? (and I'm not a fan of nuts).

I'm making zucchini alfredo for dinner, a low cal version...and salad. IT should put me at about 1000cal. What do I do with the 500 left over?

hmmm give them to me???? lol

okay can't do that...but I know it sometimes looks like omg...how can I eat that...but....you can and it can be healthy too...and it doesn't have to be to the calorie...just go as close as you can...

like a yogurt w/ some granola and a piece of fruit will take you around 300 believe it or not!
just have to figure out what you want...and how much of how little....

oooo or go for a nice frozen yogurt sundae....the hood blue berry and cream is to die for! and only 90 cals for 1/2 a cup soooo maybe like a cup of it....180 cals....a cut up banana....100 approx, so that's 280, some almonds, some granola, a drizzle of hershey choc sauce....who says healthy has to be boring! lol

    good luck!
    hugs,

look up food density on line. There are plenty of foods that pack higher calorie levels into smaller volume, in a healthy way. Trust me, my intake is supposed to be around 2900 cals a day. So I find creative ways to pack on the calories. If you don't like nuts (it's a shame by the way, they are soo good for you), then how about yogurt, cheese, beans (almost any type), oatmeal...etc things like that, all very healthy, all high in caloiric content for it's volume.

Do you add in coffee, margerine, sauces, other condiments, bites, drinks etc...they can add up to 400 cals a day easily?

Do you have snacks earlier in the day? You might try eating some of those calories earlier.

I have the same issue on days I work out. I usually eat my regulat "healthy meals" then add in extra dairy and peanut butter for snacks. That 1% cup of milk tastes really good...

Some days I do actually, but I have to eat 2000 calories on some days, and for me it's just a time thing. Between class, lifting, running, and the fact that all food places except Wendy's close at 8pm and they removed our hall's microwave (someone trying to start fires, idiots)....it's hard to even get anything, let alone eat it. With my goals, I can't just fill calories...I have to at least get into a ballpark range of macro ratios, so it's even harder. I find that stockpiling food helps so I have at least one meal waiting in my tiny fridge that I can just gobble down between classes.

This is how I can tell when it's getting close to exam week hehe
