Runtastic Pedometer Pro and Stride Length

I just paid to get the pro version of runtastic pedometer because i thought it was working well for me. But then I started walking with my husband. We both turned on our pedometers and at the end of the walk, he had a quarter mile more walked than I did, even though I had more steps. We walked together so the distance should have been the same. So the next night we both went in and tested and then adjusted our stride length in the app.

IT DIDNT STICK. I cant figure out how to get runtastic to not give me the default stride. So there is a stride difference of 6 inches between me and my husband. So it ends up not only does he get tracked for more distance than I do, because of the lack of distance im being tracked at a slower pace.

I emailed the creator of the app, but all the response I got was *change your stride length in the app* Did it, didnt work. Anybody else having the same problem, and/or figure out how to fix it?
