Reading comments

Am I the only one who just likes to read the comments some people say on these forums?? Some of these questions kill me because they are so dumb and some of the answers add so much humor to my life.

Must read commentary before adding my 2cents! Sometimes I don't read em all, but yes, love the snark!

Generally I'll read the comments whether I comment or not. If it's an old post or has like 10 pages I just sort of skim, unless there's something entertaining going on. Don't usually stick around if it gets chippy between people.

I generally don't find people asking questions dumb (no matter what the question), no one is born with all the answers - we have to learn, and to do that we sometimes need to ask questions. Just my opinion.

Have to agree with hazellac here. Everybody has to learn from somewhere. Don't look at them as dumb questions...look at it as an opportunity to share your knowledge.

It is quite condescending to call questions dumb. I am sure there was a time in your life when you didn't have all the answers to life's questions. We are all just trying to become as enlightened as you.:flowerforyou:

Got to agree with this, I mean all questions may seem dumb to someone and I bet some of our school questions seemed dumb to our teachers, glad they still answered the questions though

This. At least people are seeking answers! What is 'common sense' to some people could be unknown to others.

I am partial to grabbing some popcorn when I sense a MFP argument though ;)

Sometimes these posts just crack me up! MFP has become my new FB.

And while we're on the subject...can someone tell me where all these people get the MOST RANDOM, yet MOST APPLICABLE GIFs??!! I mean...do people really remember a certain eye roll or raised eyebrow or yawn from random tv shows and movies???

I have dedicated hard drive space for gifs, each waiting patiently for the appropriate post to be used as a reply. Sadly, MFP guidelines and persnickety thought police keep the really good ones off this site.

    It's my favorite.

Honestly not sure if I would have stuck around for 955 days if the forums weren't so darn fun.

I'm talking about obvious questions that shouldn't be asked on here, not health related or fitness oriented cause I will be the first to admit I was completely ignorant about fitness period a year ago and I still have so much to learn.

Nope, still no such thing as a stupid question. No matter how 'obvious' something is, I would like to be as helpful as possible to another human being, even if I think Google would have been a better resource.
In saying that, I rarely see any non-H&F questions being asked...maybe because I only stay in the H&F sections of the boards. Maybe you should do that too if you don't like helping people :)

You mean like, "What would you do if you caught your husband sexting?"...Those kind of threads serve their purpose when I feel like being voyeuristic. They're like the Dear Abby of interwebz forums.

Or, "Why do people let their dogs off-leash?" Those are great fun for the serious butthurt that you know will happen.
