What type of workout plan suit for skinny guy?

I am really confused about workout routines. Some say you have to work out only 3 days a week and that you don't have to burn so many calories. Others say you should work out 6 days a week and hit every muscle twice a week. What should I do?

At least 2x weekly per muscle group is ideal, and 3-4 total workouts per week is good. In your case, calorie surplus of up to 500 daily. At least 0.7g per pound protein.

Your best bet is probably start with a structured program of progressive overload like Starting Strength or Strong Lifts. Those are 3x per week.

If you're a beginner, there are also some potential down-sides to a 6 days a week schedule, for either of lifting or cardio.

Early on, we usually don't have a good handle on recovery needs. (Recovery is where the magic - rebuilding better and stronger - happens.) We may not have intuition at first about which exercises stress which muscle groups, especially in context of our own current (possibly unbalanced) strength. Starting with the type of program Retro recommends can avoid those risks, plus also help us develop an intuitive understanding of our own recovery needs.
