overeating on an 8 hour window 16 hour fast

I find that I think I overeat on calories with the same foods .

my bmr is 1311, tdee is 1730 .

and on my first day of doing the 16 hour fast, I ate 1700 calories on an 8 hour window.. and on the second day, I ate 1650 kcals, and today.. I migh hit the 1500 kcals..

I just think that.. will I gain weight with this amount of calories or i will just maintain it?

any suggestion on fasting will do too.

I'm currently following the 8 hour diet of david zinczenko

    If your tdee is 1730 eating that would be maintenance. Eating less should give you weight loss. The rate will depend on the size of your deficit.

    Sorry, your first post and all, but that is your opinion, yes. Facts, hardly. You must not be getting much sleep with your body panicking all night! And with all that binge eating each morning when you get up...and your comment about insulin is wrong. In every way. Otherwise...


    I don't understand your overeating on calories with the same foods - a calorie is a calorie. Are you trying to achieve something else?. And I know nothing about the "8 hour" diet. There is a ton of information on fasting right now (google is your friend), as well as groups here.

    I naturally do IF 16:8. It's just the way I prefer to spend my calories and time.

    If you are eating 1700 and your TDEE is around that, you are eating maintenance, so you will neither gain nor lose. You still need to have a calorie deficit to lose. With your ticker saying you have about 15 pounds to lose, I would suggest eating 1500 a day (in your 8 hour window.)

    I don't do IF because I don't think it would work for me. I like to eat often. But I understand that that's just a person preference. It's overall calories that matter, not meal timing.

    OP you're eating close to maintenance. Are you asking whether eating in an 8 hour window will allow you to still lose weight despite eating at your TDEE? If so, the answer is no.

    Anyway let's get back to the OP's question....

    If your actual TDEE is close to your estimate and your food calorie estimates turn out to be accurate then yes - you will lose weight. To reiterate eating less than your TDEE will result in weight loss.

    You just need to keep in mind that these numbers we all throw around are estimates. Actual experience will confirm how accurate your estimates turn out to be.

    PS - not sure about the thread title "overeating on an 8 hour window 16 hour fast" - in what way are you overeating?

    Check out my before and after pics. That's the result of running a reasonable deficit on a 16:8 -20:4 schedule. I'm now gaining weight by eating a slight surplus, same schedule.

    The schedule gives me better control over my intake by limiting opportunities for bad decisions.
