Organic / whole food emphasis weight loss accounts

Hey y’all,

I have several years experience of eating in a calorie deficit, so definitely not new to it, but after 2 additional babies I find myself having to shed 30-40 lbs so I’m back at it again.

However, this time around I want to be more intentional about choosing organic, clean foods. I know there are a lot of super inspiring accounts out there that share what they eat in a day or what they might order at different places - and I love that!

But I’m wondering if anybody has come across some good accounts like that that place more of an emphasis on choosing less processed foods or maybe can share clean ingredient products. Not knocking those that eat them, just don’t want to fall in the trap of buying so much prepackaged, engineered type foods. Thanks!

    Hi Hi

Love the eat with intention goal there.

A little confused though. Are you looking for websites with a whole, real food focus? Or a group or friends here?

The friend feature here changed earlier this year... they dropped the feed people shared with friends... Now, the most active areas are in the MFP forums.

Theres the recipe and nutrition forums of course, and also in the challenge forum, there's a challenge advertised for eating greens that looks interesting...

And maybe in some of the 'popular groups' might have some awesome ones with loads of info. A lot of the groups are a bit inactive but they're like a library full of resources.

    Hope this helps :)

Oops. Sorry for being vague. I mean like social media accounts - like instagram users (I hang out on Facebook but see reels from the IG account smaller_sam.pcos or Facebook account amber weight loss coach). Their accounts are super inspiring but I was hoping to find some accounts that placed more of an emphasis on eating in a calorie deficit with less of the prepackaged stuff (and maybe some prepackaged stuff that is made with non gmo or organic ingredients!) for those of us who are trying to eat that way.

Hope that makes more sense now :) and thanks for the info - I was wondering where the feed went 😅

There's a ton of them on youtube. Just search for clean eating. Keeping in mind there's also a lot of bs that goes along with those types of accounts... since there's no real definition for clean eating. Bobby Parrish is one though.

Absolutely. You can technically lose weight eating only fast food if you’re in a calorie deficit. I’m just looking to be encouraged and inspired with different meal ideas and things without the temptation to purchase a bunch of foods that are highly processed.

Yeah, I've been consuming mostly whole food with a focus on either organic or local farmers I know that try to farm with those same principles in mind. I use to consume pretty much the SAD diet 15 years ago with a few, well more than a few health concerns like insulin resistance and I was 65 lbs overweight. I'm also consuming a low/ketogenic diet which has allowed me to fix pretty much all my health issues and lose the 65 lbs without counting calories. I did fumble for over a year trying with count calories before I tried mostly whole foods and the keto diet, that was a learning journey and now it's pretty much intuitive and it's been 14 years.

Anyway this is basically a calorie counting website and suspect that will be the majority of the advice your going to get which is unfortunate imo. Anyway, yes you tube is a decent place to find like minded people for just about any subject, and eventually after vetting many different sources you should be able to figure the basic principles out

The only caveat I'll mention when researching is most of the information will be editorials and opinion, which is fine but keep in mind that there's been a real push to promote plant based diets, with a focus that meat is bad not only for the planet but for people, based on a lot of dis and mis information many years ago, which is hanging around pretty well. I'm not saying you shouldn't focus on a vegetarian diet, that's up to you, just try to understand this will be one of the main focuses when you start to look around, and unfortunately some militancy, especially with vegans will rear there ugly heads, so just keep that in mind. imo
