Don't know exactly where to put this. Just a rant.
I did it again. Lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks.
Just a little dust up in my season of storms the last year or 2. Upset. Couldn't eat. Couldn't sleep. Average 250 calories a day for a week. Little water. Less sleep. First lost 12 pounds from November 18 to December 2.
Tried eating junk food, cause that's what I could keep down. Never expected criticism from mfp " supporters".
Storm is past. Up to 1256 calories yesterday and proud of that! Drinking well. Keeping everything down.
Slept 7 hours last night(actually from 4 am to 11am) Happy Dance! 💃
2 days in a row, weight is down 10 pounds from average on November 18.
No criticism please. I'm trying.
Healthy food is secondary to just eating enough to survive. And there are some "Healthy " foods I will never, ever, ever eat.
Be kind. Basic rule of life.

    Same thing happened to me last week. I was extremely sick to the point I couldn't eat for several days. In 3 days I managed to eat 1 egg. Your body is designed to handle that as long as you start eating again when you can (which it sounds like you did). Maybe people misunderstood and didn't realize what was going on? And you're a grown woman, nobody else should be trying to tell you what to or not to eat. I eat junk even when I feel fine.

    That's what I thought.
    Yesterday I could see I was way short of 1200 calories. Tried to think of a quick easy way to add calories. Ate a doughnut. WRONG! Tummyache, couldn't sleep. Came in at 1264 calories.
    Today is gonna be short, too. Looking at around 1110. No doughnut!
    Should be close enough for another day or two.

    I'm doing a little better, as you can see from the above. S--- happens. We just have to pick ourselves up and try again. I'd just appreciate it if you wouldn't kick me while I'm down. Lol.
    God doesn't screw up. He just throws us a curve ball occasionally. I'm getting dizzy.

    be cautious of when you start eating again. stick to fat and soft foods. eggs, avocado, etc. and slowly and in small amounts. avoid carbs during introducing foods again. allow yourself 1/2 the amount of time you were not eating to reintroduce food. so...if you were down for 2 weeks, reintroduce foods as above for 1 week then slowly start to reintroduce more varied food and more food.....and in the mean time, make sure you are getting salt. if you can eat some pickles or take sips of pickle juice.

    I usually aim for 30 grams fiber. That's definitely on the back burner for now. Had rice for lunch today. I don't like rice, but I thought it was the r in the brat diet. Isn't it? Anyway it was easy on my tummy. Yes, I've definitely been doing eggs. The one day I felt good enough to go to the closest grocery, not my favorite, bananas were green. Aren't they b in brat? What's a and t?
    Hadn't thought about salt particularly, but I put some electrolytes in my water. Hopefully that had salt.

    This hits home just a little bit. A month ago I had a stomach bug that knocked me for six. Couldn't keep anything down for a day, had discomfort for about a week.
    And then this week was miserable, nausea again but felt different - probably a starting stomach ulcer which meds should take care of.

    "BRAT stands for bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast"
    All carbs basically, but that's not bad. During my own recent bouts with digestive troubles, I had no natural inclination to consume fats.
    My go to foods were cereal, salty crackers, applesauce mixed with some skyr for protein, a bit of fdried figs. And then gradually introduced lean meat and vegetables.

    It's miserable really, so anything you can keep down/ doesn't make you uncomfortable is a win.

    Brat is hard for me. Bananas are OK, but definitely not my favorite. I don't like rice. Hate the texture of applesauce--like apples. Have trouble with purchased bread in u.s. Make my own, often cottage cheese and egg white "bread". I'm a real meat eater, but I like eggs, too, so I've been eating a lot. The rice was really good! Maybe because it calmed my tummy. I'll try it again. Maybe bake an apple? Maybe a baked potato? Made some carrot soup. Warm and comforting, but not really good for upset tummy. Maybe potato soup?

    I was thinking that now that I'm on the mend, I should start thinking about eating healthy, not just eating.
    I looked back at my diary for the last few weeks. I was thinking about getting my protein up first.
    Surprise! My macros have actually been very well balanced! I think I owe this to my MFP training. Years of eating healthier really has soaked in. It just came naturally! Thanks MFP!

    you really need to think about refeeding syndrome. thats why you should stick to fats while you reintroduce eating and make sure you are getting salt. adding some Himalayan salt to some water as gross as it sounds its important. refeeding syndrome is real. so be very cautious.

    kamichi if you can get it is also a really good food when reintroducing food. if you have an asian resto around you...or some of the health food stores like goodness me or whole foods have it. i think its the fermentation but dont quote me on the science.

    Canned Chicken noodle soup for supper. Not usually a favorite. So good tonight. Might do it again tomorrow.

    Wow! You got that kind of reaction, when ill? The stuff I eat when sick doesn’t even bear thinking about. Usually chocolate. Lots and lots. And logged.

    You focus on getting you back to 100%.

    Horned screamer? My first thought was to giggle. My husband would nickname me Kamichi if he heard that one.

    BTW, if we’re going to slam people’s food diaries, I’ll offer this one up to you. I’m planning to eat a whole Stöllen from the French Bakery (yeah, but theirs is better than the Germany bakery!) very soon. It will take most of my calories, if not all. I’ll save you the trouble of looking that one up.

    I used to love biscotti like you apparently love stollen. Can't eat it. But I found a recipe with wheat-free flour that looks easy enough even I, a non-cook, can manage. I'm so anxious to try it. Gotta get just a little stronger first.
