Holiday stresses

I have been so stressed since the holiday season has started. All the food and people stress me out. I have decorated the house but with the great grandkids(2, 4, 6) living with us right now along with their dad and my daughter(their grandmother) the house never stays clean and I only put lights and garland on the tree but it is so pretty when lit up. Now comes the holiday baking of cookies. I will be making chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar and pizzelles. I also have to make chocolate and peanut butter fudge. I can usually stay away from the cookies and candy but I am so stressed that I am afraid I will be tempted to eat them this year. With all this stress I am having a hard time staying on track and have gained about 5 lbs. I have been told by the doctors that they will not do my ostomy surgery until I loose another 35lbs. I was doing good at loosing until they keep moving the number of pounds to loose and putting this additional stress on me.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me to get back on track?

Oh gosh! You have a lot going on! Is there something you could just not do among all the holiday preparations? Maybe one less batch of cookies (or NO cookies!) or one less holiday activity?

Could you take a little time to yourself and sit in a bookstore with a coffee by yourself or do some other solitary outing for yourself ? Go get a haircut or a manicure? Walk the dog ? It just sounds like a little time to focus on yourself would be helpful perhaps?

    All the best to you!

I agree. Be gentle on yourself.
With a 2,4, and 6 yr old in the house, it's never gonna be neat. Take a deep breath and accept it.
Do you "have to" make fudge for work or something? Take it there immediately after you make it.
Fill the fridge and cabinets with your favorite low-cal things-- not things you have to force. For me, broccoli, carrots and celery, cut, rinsed, in cold water in open containers on the top shelf of the fridge.
    For you? You decide.
Do everything you can think of to make it easier for you.
And DO make some time for YOU!
    Best wishes!
