Is anyone going to log there food & drinks over the festive week or will you be having a maintenance calorie break or diet break.
Would love to hear your thoughts.

No, I am not logging. But it's about personal preference. If you don't log, use it as a chance to focus on hunger and fullness cues and practice using those to decide how much to eat. A week isn't going to be an issue unless you don't get back on track after the week is over.

I have been logging and will continue to log. I don't intend to fill up on foods outside my usual eating preferences and want to ensure that I stay on track. I already had a couple of bouts of holiday-related overeating and don't want it to continue. I don't have family close to me so holiday times are no big shabang for me - just myself and the hubs.

I don't do crimbo, and I log anyway. Thus yeah. But I'm going on a small 5 day flight trip thereafter and logging will be difficult.

I had a fam day yesterday, with quite a few cookies and a big meal I didn't see being prepared, so I'll fill in a very vague guess for the day to keep my TDEE tracking reasonably accurate.

Rather than being hyper-focused on logging, I think your best bets are:

    a) Moderation of obviously high calorie empty treats.
    b) Continue doing some regular exercise, even if it's just taking a walk after a big meal.
  • ✅ Continued logging for me is a must do. I’ve log each day since 10/23/24 & dropped 16 lbs. Personally, I do very well if I stay focused, consistent, & held accountable (by my daily nutritional stats). Once I derail, even slightly, I’m a complete train wreck. 😊

I'm logging but I allowed myself a cookie yesterday. Still stayed within my calorie goals. I may have another tonight, still trying to stay within my calorie goals. I'm low carb, low salt. So while I may deviate from the low carb, I will try to stay within my calorie goals.

I log everything, I’ll go way over on some days but for me there’s no point not logging - whether I record them or not, I’m still eating those extra calories!

I’ll be logging. I have some rest time and perfect time for health time. It’s all so subjective.. do what’s best for you. The only time I don’t log is when I need a social media break.

The extra calories could be good for lats growth.

I'll be generally logging, though some days I'll be eyeballing rather than exact - it's more an aide memoire so I can look back and go "what did I do??". I'm planning on keeping up the exercise, and not going wild on the treats or alcohol.

I'll log. It's just so much easier for me to keep up good habits than to quit, then have to retrain myself all over again.
I'll eat over my weight loss calorie goal, but not a lot over. I won't replenish Xmas treats, so should go back to normal eating habits as soon as extra food is eaten, frozen, or thrown away.

I will not be logging. I am not doing any cooking and we are celebrating with family by eating out. I been maintaining for almost 15 years anyway and keeping the weight within range, so I trust myself.
    Happy Holidays everyone!

I’m going to log. While I do feel logging helps me be a little more thoughtful about what I eat, for me the biggest thing is focusing more on how much I’m eating and what I’m eating much more than obsessively logging or being exact in logging. I’m pretty-diabetic so I will continue with low carb. One cookie or dessert sometimes it’s ok, just not having 5-6 cookies in 1 day. Try to control portion size especially with unhealthy food. I’ll be traveling which is difficult to stay healthy but I’ll be ordering salads and working out at the gym in the hotel.
