    Hi akka,

I applaud you on your decision to get tools to aide you with your diet 👏🏾 I felt like getting a tool to help me too, once I made the decision to make a change.

What I've found is that it helps when I begin with the end in mind. What I mean is to identify WHY I'm making a change in the first place—look svelte at the beach in 6 months, run a half-marathon in 6 mos, re-attract the attention of my partner in a year, etc. Then, keep that reason, that why, in front of me CONSTANTLY. That way, when I'm tempted to veer away from my diet, I'm reminded of why I'm saying "no" to that slice of my fave cake 😅

After that, take a week and write down all the things that you eat now. One of my mentors says, "A man makes the habit; the habit makes the man." Getting in shape, or out of shape, is a journey of thousands of tiny steps we call "meals". So being aware of those tiny steps you're taking is pivotal.

Then, based on if you're intending to lose or gain weight, identify the small changes you're willing to make—drink water instead of juice, cut out salad dressing for vinegar, don't put cheese on everything, etc. And if I may strongly suggest, make small, SMALL changes. Big changes, in my opinion, should be short-term (like say, a month at most to hit a goal). One of my mentors says, "If you make a 1% change every day, for 365 days, you'll be 365% better in a year."

Hope all that helps. That advice has helped me to hover around the 160 lbs I was coming out of high school, TWENTY-SIX years ago. I believe in you; you can do this. You can do everything that you SAY you can.

See you at the winners circle 🤝🏾
