Something to think about

I started with MFP about 2 years ago. When I started my weight loss plan, I was 240 pounds and I wanted to lose 40 in a year. I was not unhealthy or unhappy and was not having any problems because of my weight.
By going to the gym at 4am 3-5 times a week and strict diet, I lost the weight in 8 months. During that time I was hungry all the time and exhausted from getting up so early. The extra energy that everyone said I would feel from the weight loss never came. After several more months, even though I was continuing to diet and work hard the weight started coming back. After months of fighting and frustration I quit the effort.
My weight is back to where it was, I am not hungry or tired all the time. The stress from the weight loss efforts are gone and I am much happier, and I have no intention of going through that again.
My point is, think about why you are putting yourself through this stress and work. If it is not medically necessary consider accepting yourself as you are. Eat and exercise responsibly and otherwise just be happy.

While I do understand what you are saying, not all people who are losing weigh are constantly tired and hungry. If you feel this way during you weight loss and are unable to find a way to make it a part of your everyday routine, which is functional and maintainable, then you set yourself up for a cycle of losing and gaining weight.
Since you are still here, I will assume that while you accept yourself the way you are you would still like to lose weight, but perhaps in a more manage manner? Your last sentence sums it up "eat and exercise responsibility."0 -
Being happy with who you are is important, and it is great that for you, you have found acceptance.
I have to say though, that being a healthy weight makes me happier than I was. I too am up and at the gym by 4:00 a.m. I work very long hours, most days 12 hours. Most of my stress comes from my job, not my diet and exercise. I exercise daily now. M-F at the gym at work, and walking in our woods in the evening. Saturday and Sunday I walk for at least 2 hours in our woods. A year ago, I could not even walk up one flight of stairs without being winded. Now, I walk for 2 hours up and down hills in our woods and I do get winded. The excess weight off of my knees makes a 100% difference in my stamina and mobility. I am in better shape than I have been in 30 years. The health aspects for me being a healthy weight have probably increased my chances for living longer. I intend to stick with this plan and MFP for as long as I am able. I will be 62 on September 30th.
Continued happiness to you!0 -
I am happy you like yourself the way you are.
My previous and present level of physical fitness is unacceptable. I am willing to put in the effort it will take to change.0 -
I'm happy with who I am as a person. I do not have any medical or health problems, but I want to get back to a healthy weight so that none arise in the future. I also want to be comfortable seeing myself naked, being sad or disappointed when I get in the shower is a bummer. I suppose I'm a bit superficial though, as I'm also planning on getting a boob job in a few years, since four pregnancies has made my breasts a little "sad".0
