Hi how do I know what my proportions of carbs fat and protein is that I'm to stick to?

I'm new and just figuring out how this app works. Where does one find your recommended amount or % of fat protein and carb that you need to stick to for a meal on the app??
I'm assuming the app has stored info about your BMI and has recommended that you eat 50% carb 20 protein and 30 fat for example.

It does and it also has a space for determining macros for your specific needs.

It's not super important to have each meal hit the daily macro goals, especially not exactly exact. Coming close on average by the end of the day, or even on average over a small number of days, is OK. I'd say a person doesn't want to be wildly low on protein or fats for multiple days, but up a little some, down a little on others - that should be fine.

However, MFP will show you totals for meals in various places. For example, in web browser MFP, you can see the full day goal to actual comparison at the bottom of the diary page, or see some comparisons to goal in the Reports area. In the phone/tablet app, the Nutrition option on the More menu has that information in the Nutrients or Macros tabs there either as a daily value or a weekly average.

Also, the nutrition aspects are mainly about health, energy level, appetite, and that sort of thing. If the key goal is body weight, that's directly about calories. Nutrition can affect weight indirectly, in that sub-ideal nutrition can trigger fatigue so we burn fewer calories than we might expect, or spike appetite so we have trouble sticking to calorie goal. But the direct effect on body weight is still via calories, even in those cases.
